Gift Giving Plans

“There is no better way to thank God for your sight than by giving a helping hand to someone in the dark.” Helen Keller

As a non-profit, publicly-funded organization, we rely on the following income sources for our operation revenue:

– Aloha United Way
– Combined Federal Campaign
– Private and Corporate Gifts
– Periodic Grants

The continued financial support we receive from caring individuals and organizations has made it possible for the Foundation to carry out our mission goals and objectives for more than fifty-five years!

The gift you give, no matter whether it is monetary or through volunteering, have made it possible for our legally blind neighbors to lead safe, independent and meaningful lives.

Your charitable gift is not only a direct demonstration of your compassion; it is also an emotional investment in the quality guide dogs we place, and the quality of life for legally blind residents of Hawaii and neighboring US territories.

We also provide electronic aids to blind youth that will enable them to access information and make learning a more worthwhile experience as well as elderly blind individuals that will enhance their independence in everyday activities.

Moreover, we continually seek new ways to improve the quality of life for our blind residents so that they may gain full inclusion in everyday activities.

In addition to direct check and credit card donations, we accept charitable gift plans.
Outlined below are our charitable gift giving plan options that might interest you. Furthermore, some of these charitable giving options may provide you with some financial benefits. As always, we encourage you to seek advice from your financial advisor in planning your charitable gift.

Eye of the Pacific Guide Dogs Foundation thanks you in advance for your interest in our mission and thoughtful interest in giving!

bequests

You can name Eye of the Pacific Guide Dogs Foundation as a beneficiary under your will in several ways: as the recipient of an outright gift, either in a designated amount or as a percentage of your estate; or as a residuary beneficiary to receive sums after specific amounts have been paid to other beneficiaries. Adding Eye of the Pacific Guide Dogs Foundation to your will can be accomplished through a simple codicil without rewriting your entire will.

Real estate

Your residence, business, or any other property may have appreciated so significantly in value that its sale would generate a substantial income tax. By making a gift of a full or partial interest in real estate to Eye of the Pacific Guide Dogs Foundation, you can avoid tax on the long-term capital gain and generate an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property. It is also possible to make a gift of your primary residence or second home while retaining an exclusive life estate so that you (and your spouse) can continue to use it for the remainder of your lifetime(s) while earning significant tax and estate planning benefits.

Life insurance

By transferring your policy to Eye of the Pacific Guide Dogs Foundation as owner and beneficiary while remaining the insured, you can deduct the cash value of the policy as a charitable gift. You may also make annual gifts to Eye of the Pacific Guide Dogs Foundation, which will be used to pay the policy premiums, and you can deduct these gifts for income tax purposes.
