A true friend is compassionate and understands my ways,
Respects my career and know I cannot play
For when I’m in my work gear I need to concentrate
To ensure my partner’s safety, to prevent a possible ill fate
A true friend is devoted and loyal in every way,
Supportive of the services that we provide each day
As we positively respond to our partner’s command
We successfully navigate them through the task at hand
A true friend is caring, sincere and content
Knowing that their donations are wisely spent
Dedicated volunteers who seem sent from above
Help to bring independence to our partners whom we love
A true friend can feel the rewards and pleasure from a dream come true
For lasting partnerships are formed that no one can undo
Thanks true friend for all you’ve done right from the start

REWARDS OF BEING A TRUE FRIEND
In today's economy, we often like to see where our money goes and how it is spent. We take special pride in seeing and sometimes touching the rewards of our contribution. Guide dogs, in particular have become more visible in our community these days. Our guide dogs can be identified by their red collar with yellow print.
Imagine the sense of pride as a true friend whenever you witness one of the dreams you helped to make a reality execute a safe and accurate street crossing. Imagine watching a team accessing a building with the handler giving commands. Imagine having the opportunity to assist with the dog following you to a destination. There are many times too, when a true friend will witness a team arguing about which way is the right way to go and other times, a true friend might witness one of our dogs free running in a nearby park – working out the job related stress and having fun at it!
